As described above, a set of REM-2/REM-2R units can be powered directly from the remote MAP wiring. The maximum allowable load on the MAP port is 500 mA which corresponds to the load of about 8 units. The use of external power supplies allows increasing the number of remotes or the distance to the processor.

Copper losses reduce the maximum number of remotes as well as the operating distance to the MAP. To avoid these losses, larger cable sections should be used where possible. In some cases (as described in the Medium Installations section) by doubling the number of power cables using 3 pairs instead of 2, it is possible to double the number of remotes or the distance to the MAP as shown in the tables.

The recommended power supplies are those used for general 5V wall applications and with micro USB type connection with elbow connection. In any case, the available space within the mechanism box will be evaluated. Connect the adapter to the network following the manufacturer's recommendations.

NOTE: Never mount the adapter inside the mechanism box.

The connection to the remote wiring is made through a not included RJ-11 6/6 connector (available in telephone stores) on the MAP side and through a plug-in terminal (-terminal block-) of 4 poles and 3.5mm pitch included in the supply. The connector accepts cables with a cross section of up to 1.3 mm2 to allow the remotes to be connected via chain mounting.

When you need to create branches, you can follow the wiring recommendation shown below:
