The firmware of the MAP processors and the 3cMAP control program is updated remotely when the system has an internet connection.

To manage checking for updates, check the appropriate “Check for Updates” option in the HELP menu in the MAP selection window of the 3cMAP program.

If you prefer an automatic update without confirmation, check the “Check for Updates at Startup” box in the HELP menu in the selection window MAP of the 3cMAP program.

The update process checks for new firmware versions and software revisions for the MAP processor and DSP as well as updates to the PC software, 3cMAP sequentially.

The firmware update of the MAP microcontroller will be carried out EXCLUSIVELY from the USB connection.

The MAP DSP firmware update can be done either via USB connection or LAN connection.

The firmware update of the REM-2 remote controls will be performed using the USB connection. Connect the remote to a PC and update the remotes one by one. REM2 uses a micro USB connector. The PC must have an internet connection. Also connect REM2 to MAP processor and run 3cMAP control software. When the device finds an update, the program will indicate the possibility of carrying it out. For an update without an internet connection, consult your Altair dealer.

NOTE: Microcontroller version 1.7 is not compatible with DSP version 1.5. To avoid these incompatibilities, update both processors at the same time.
