The audio inputs on the MAP processor are electronically balanced and the connection is made via 3-pin Phoenix® connectors. The connection is made using the connector supplied with the device that uses a 2 mm flat screw fixing system.

The terminal layout is described in the diagram, seen from the outside of the equipment.

When unbalanced signals are connected, the live will be brought to the (+) terminal and the ground connection will be brought simultaneously to the (-) and ground 0V terminals using a single connecting cable between the 0V terminal and the (-) terminal.

In some installations -as long as the input signals are balanced- that present noise due to ground loops, the 0V terminal of the MAP can be left unconnected, "on air". However, the MAP's design largely prevents mass loops from producing undesirable noise.

The input impedance is 4K ohm.

CAUTION: -PHANTOM POWER- Please carefully check the (-input configuration-) input panel settings for -Phantom- power as standard devices such as CD, DVD or mp3 players do not support this power and they can be damaged. Check the front panel indicators for inputs that have -Phantom- enabled. The -Phantom- power supply is mainly used to power certain professional condenser-type microphones or for injection boxes among other uses.
